Job Description SummaryGE - Renewable Energy would like to recruit a Control System Technical Lead to lead technical project activities during the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for design preparation based on customer specification, lead engineering activities from design stage until site commissioning and acts as a technical interface between customer and GE's Grid Automation technical community.
In this role the suitable candidate is expected to work with defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning
This role will report directly to the Engineering team leader.Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:


•Participate in customer kick off meetings, leading technical front on the project.

•Participate in project risk review sessions with the PM.

•Own project MDs budget from start till project closure.

•Provide monthly progress and planning inputs to PM.

•Analysis customer specifications, identification of the appropriate solution to build the system.

•Write the specifications and documentations relative to projects involved with (Basic and/or Detail design,...),

•Actively define and validate technical solutions with customers.

•Understand designed systems and recommends changes when required.

•Specify the software and the suitable IED while designing project technical solution.

•Define /validate model nos. of the equipment to source on projects in hand.

•Define technical execution planning and resource allocation needs upon project kickstart and regularly updates it.

•Own technical delivery of the project inside the allocated budget.

•Warns the project manager in case of budget deviation forecast / any technical deviation which put the project in risk.

•Manage the Fault reports / snags, applications team interface along with technical business requests as needed.

•Secure traceability of the config files evolutions and versions.

•Inform PM on potential design optimization opportunities.

•Supports Tendering and Commercial teams as needed for upcoming bids.

•Define project technical contractual documents for customer and follow the doc transmissions (sent / approval)

•Remotely support site activities / site Engineers as needed and sometimes be on site too for data collection / customer interface meetings.

•Lead Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance tests

•Follow up and close site pending lists in coordination with commissioning team.

•Work with customer and support commissioning teams for major site milestones like commissioning kick off & energization.

•Define & provide project design specific trainings to the customer.

Qualifications & Experience:


• Minimum of a BSc. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with control system related experience.

•The incumbent must possess strong knowledge of SCADA, communication protocols and media.

•Experience with design, programming, electrical Control systems (SCADA/HMI, Cyber security, Network equipment, IEC61850, Firewalls, Routers e.tc).

•Ability to travel to customer sites Locally and globally - Must have a valid driver's license


Desired Characteristics


•Knowledge on Automation, Electrical Control Systems and SCADA/DCS systems.

•Strong technical skills on Networking, communication Protocols and Cyber security aspects.

•Strong technical skills on design of control systems including but not limited to SCADA Functional testing, HMI validation, Network communication tests, Integration & testing with 3rd part systems on IEC101/104, signal testing with protection relays on IEC61850.

•Flexible approach to working hours is essential (extended hours and weekends)
