Regional Officer – Sahel (West and Central Africa)
Location: UK Office, London
Salary: £, per annum based on Hours Per Week (plus Inner London Weighting of £,)
Contract type: One Permanent & One Month Fixed Term available.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Officer to join our team in the Sahel Region. As a key member of our International Division, you will be responsible for ensuring the Head of Region for West and Central Africa, Country Managers for Sahel, and Programme Managers receive adequate resources from the UK Head Office to deliver Regional and Country Strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the Head of Region for West and Central Africa, Country Managers for Sahel, and Programme Managers receive adequate resources from the UK Head Office to deliver Regional and Country Strategies.
- Report to the Country Manager for Sahel, directing projects and services, coordinating and mobilising resources from the UK Head Office to support regional and country strategies.
- Represent the regional team at internal and external meetings, conferences, and public engagements as required by the Head of Region or Country Managers.
- Facilitate engagement and information flow to the regional team, assist with monitoring and reporting, manage relationships with key stakeholders (including Fundraising and Communications), and maintain partnerships within Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, and Chad.
- Strong understanding of the West and Central Africa regional context (socially and politically) and the international humanitarian system. Knowledge of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, with experience in international disaster response, development, and working with remote teams.
- Fluent in French, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation, presentation, and report writing (especially drafting and compiling program documents, proposals, and donor reports) for various audiences.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and collaborative work across multiple teams, with the ability to influence key partners, Trusts, Foundations, and donors.
- Excellent administrative, project/program management, and IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and maintaining spreadsheets and financial databases accurately.
