Role Overview
The role of a Fostering Advisor at ISP is to provide support and guidance to foster parents, ensuring they have the necessary resources and information to provide the best possible care for the children in their charge.
About Us
ISP is a leading provider of fostering services, with over 30 years of experience in supporting looked-after children and their families. Our Integrated Service Programme (ISP) approach focuses on providing a comprehensive range of support services that cater to the unique needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities
- To visit foster parents regularly to discuss their progress, provide advice and information on available support services, and offer guidance on matching considerations, respite, training, supervised contact, and transportation.
- To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions with foster parents, including notes on meetings, discussions, and any decisions made.
- To be actively involved in coordinating training for foster parents, as well as facilitating discussion groups and presentations at the Centre.
- To work closely with social workers and other professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
Requirements
- An understanding of fostering regulations and standards, including the Children's Act and Fostering Service National Minimum Standards.
- Previous experience or a willingness to work in a therapeutic model of childcare.
- Ability to build strong relationships with foster parents, children, and other professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A full driving license and access to a vehicle.

- A competitive salary of £24,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- A generous car allowance of £3,000 per year.
- 25 days' annual leave (increasing to 30 days after one year of service) plus bank holidays.
