Therapeutic Fostering Role

About ISP

ISP is a leading provider of fostering services, dedicated to supporting children and young people in need. We are seeking an experienced Fostering Advisor to join our team, providing therapeutic support to foster parents and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular phone contact with foster parents to discuss progress and share ideas and strategies
  • Make home visits to foster families, offering advice and information on support and services available
  • Coordinate training for foster parents, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care
  • Be actively involved in contact arrangements, respite, and transportation, working closely with social workers and other professionals
  • Support children and young people in their leisure activities, promoting their physical and emotional well-being
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Understanding of fostering regulations and standards, including the Children's Act and Fostering Service National Minimum Standards
  • Experience of working in a therapeutic model of child care, with a focus on attachment and relationship-building
  • Ability to build good working relationships with professionals from various disciplines, including social workers, teachers, and therapists
  • Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience of using spreadsheets and databases
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle, with the ability to drive across the region
