London, Greater London, United Kingdom Southwark Council Full time

Are you passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities and their families?

This role offers a brilliant opportunity to be part of a close-knit team that supports children, young people, and adults with disabilities to increase their independence and quality of life.

About the Role

As a Positive Behaviour Support Worker, you will work with parents and family carers to build their confidence and skills in implementing effective behaviour and communication strategies at home or in the community.

You'll work directly with families to help reduce behaviours that challenge by collaborating with family support networks, conducting functional behaviour assessments, setting achievable goals, and designing personalised support plans.

About You

We are looking for candidates with experience working with children, young people, or adults who have learning disabilities and/or autism and may display behaviours that challenge. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you'll work closely with families and various professionals.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Knowledge of learning disabilities and autism and an understanding of how these impact behaviour and communication.
  • Hands-on experience with Positive Behaviour Support or Applied Behaviour Analysis interventions.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with individuals with disabilities and a passion for making a difference.
Why This Role Matters

This role is more than a job; it's a commitment to increasing quality of life through reducing the impact of behaviours that challenge while strengthening the skills and resilience of families, carers, and staff.

You'll make a direct impact on people's lives, helping to build strong and supportive communities.

This is a permanent full-time position, 36 hours per week.

The salary range for this role is £41,580 - £47,628 per annum.
