Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Support Specialist to join our Ophthalmology Patient Services Team based in Rochdale. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative support to patients and colleagues across the patient pathway.

The ideal candidate will have previous administration experience, excellent communication skills, and a sincere desire to be part of a team that takes pride in helping patients.

About the Role

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Ophthalmology service, including accepting referrals, booking appointments, and ensuring accurate patient data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Ophthalmology service, including accepting referrals and booking appointments.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all data is up-to-date.
  • Act as the first point of contact for patient enquiries and respond accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and patient services staff to deliver high-quality care.

Requirements

  • Previous administration experience in a similar setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A sincere desire to be part of a team that takes pride in helping patients.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of IT and software packages, including Microsoft Office.
