Clinical Matron

The Matron for Harris Birthright Unit and Specialist Maternity Services will be responsible for advancing change in four main areas of impact – quality, patient experience, finance and efficiency, and leadership and skills development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a positive role model providing expert clinical advice and support promoting a woman and family centered approach to maternity care.
- Managing and responding to complaints and feedback from people who use the service.
- Overseeing budgets and ensuring appropriate provision and care for the management of resources for midwifery and support staff, consumables and environment.
- Creating and sustaining efficient care processes that provide high quality clinical care.
- Actively engaging with improvement in the service using recognised quality improvement methods.
The post holder will also be responsible for line management of Fetal Medicine unit midwives and overseeing the following areas of maternity services:
- Maternity Assessment Unit
- NIPE (operational lead)
- Bereavement midwives
- Maternity Vaccinations
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Midwife with evidence of post registration education at degree level.
The post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
