Job Title: Principal Electrical C&I Engineer

Location: UK, Barrow-In-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and bonuses.

About the Role

This is a senior-level position responsible for leading electrical calibration activities across various sites, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance, and mentorship to ensure the highest level of expertise and proficiency.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects, collaborating with subject matter experts to develop and implement calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets.

Your skills and experience will be put to the test as you tackle high-pressure challenges, driving innovation and delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading electrical calibration activities across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Developing and implementing calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (STEM degree).
  • Extensive experience in precision electrical metrology laboratory environments.
  • Understanding of quality systems & standards (ISO 17025 / ISO 9001).

Desirable:

  • Existing UKAS signatory status for Electrical Calibration.
  • Experience in creation of measurement uncertainty budgets to ISO 17025 level.
  • Experience in use of automation software (Fluke Metcal, Met/Track, Met/Teams, Labview).
  • Experience in Mechanical / Dimensional / Temperature calibrations.
