About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. As a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for providing specialist assessment and treatment to children with varying needs in community settings, special schools, clinics, and the Child Development Centre.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing specialist assessment for children aged 0-18 with complex presentations to determine relevant clinical pictures and specific treatment indicated.
  • Being responsible for the appropriate physiotherapy treatment of an identified group of children with a wide variety of conditions, including those with severe physical and/or cognitive impairment.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, providing highly complex information regarding diagnosis and ongoing management with tact and empathy.
  • Making complex decisions and judgments as a frontline practitioner to interpret situations requiring child protection action.
  • Working to locally and nationally agreed standards set by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists.
  • Demonstrating a sound understanding of risk management and undertaking risk assessments involved in the manual handling of children during physiotherapy management.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate diploma or BSc Physiotherapy qualification with HCPC registration and CSP membership.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate physiotherapy experience, including a broad experience across different areas of physiotherapy practice at graduate level.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team and within the NHS in the UK.
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and evidence of remaining up to date with professional practice and new research.
