Job Summary
The MIU Practitioner will be responsible for providing high-quality emergency care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care to patients, including assessing and treating minor injuries and ailments.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and maintain stock levels, ordering supplies as needed and reporting any defects to management.
- Enter patient-related data into electronic record systems and participate in audit processes.
- Teach and educate patients on health-related topics, utilizing teaching skills to promote health literacy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse, Emergency Care Practitioner, or AHP qualification in a specialist field to degree or diploma level.
- Experience in auditing and providing evidence-based care within the field.
- Ability to analyze situations and provide resolutions, working under pressure in a physically and psychologically demanding role.
- IT literacy to enter patient-related data and participate in audit processes.
Desirable Criteria
- Supplemented by diploma-level specialist training and/or short courses, or equivalent level of experience.
Personal Qualities/Attributes
- Demonstrated ability to analyze situations and provide resolutions.
- Ability to work under pressure in a physically and psychologically demanding role.

Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group is in partnership with The Princes Trust to support individuals in getting into work. This partnership offers an employability service to support individuals between 16-30 years old with application writing, interview skills, and other employment support.
