MIU Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced MIU Practitioner to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As an MIU Practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and referring patients who attend the Minor Injuries Unit.
About the RoleThis is a part-time post, and you will be required to work some weekends and Bank Holidays. The unit is open 7 days a week throughout the year, and you will be working as an autonomous practitioner within the Minor Injuries Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, treat, and refer patients who attend the Minor Injuries Unit
- Recognise and take appropriate actions in an emergency situation
- Take clinical responsibility for patients, carers, students, and other junior health professionals
- Provide health promotion to patients
- Maintain a high quality of care for all patients attending the unit
- Facilitate access of patients into secondary or community care settings as appropriate
