Job Title: Governance Professional for Durham County Council

Estimated Salary: £12,000 - £18,000 per annum

About the Role:

As a Co-opted Governor for Durham County Council, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in our community.

You will work collaboratively with the Headteacher and other Governors to develop and implement policies and strategies that promote excellence in education and improve student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To contribute to the development of the school's vision, ethos, and strategic direction.
  • To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school.
  • To ensure that the school uses its resources effectively and efficiently.
Requirements:

We are seeking individuals who possess excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of educational issues and the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.

A minimum commitment of three termly meetings is required, with ongoing training and development opportunities available to support your growth as a Governor.
