Specialist Radiologist Cross Sectional Imaging Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Radiologist to join our team at the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre (PSSC). As a leading centre for translational cancer imaging, we provide a range of opportunities for career progression and encourage continuing professional development (CPD), in-house training, and further study.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop research projects in the Centre and work with a team of knowledgeable and enthusiastic scanning teams. We provide a range of opportunities for career progression and encourage CPD, in-house training, and further study.
Main Duties- Supervise and report investigations performed mainly cross-sectional imaging using CT and MRI.
- Perform or interpret the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography (CT).
- Document the performance, interpretation, or outcomes of all procedures performed.
- Prepare and present comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.
- Communicate examination results or diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, or families.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities- Maintenance of high-quality patient-centred care.
- Shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service and participation in strategic planning.
- Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service.
- Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity.
- Active participation in continuing medical education.

Person SpecificationPrevious ExperienceEssential Criteria- Shall have completed a minimum of 12 years medical work (either in continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of 6 years should have been in a relevant Specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years' experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.
- Demonstrate an interest in, commitment to, and have broad experience in Oncology, in particular cross-sectional imaging and subspecialty training in a lead area.
- Ability to offer and be accountable for full and independent expert diagnostic opinion.
- Can show evidence in leading on patient safety issues and achieving a change in practice.
- Able to evidence engagement with clinical governance and the identification of errors and the learning from errors.
- Evidence of engagement with appraisal and revalidation.
- Full GMC registration with a Licence to Practice.
- FRCR Membership or qualification of an equivalent level.
- Evidence of being up to date and fit to practice safely, and aware of own training needs.
