Specialist Radiologist in Cross-Sectional and Cancer Imaging

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Radiologist to join our team at the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre (PSSC) in Mount Vernon Hospital. The PSSC is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with cutting-edge equipment, including a Dual Source/dual energy CT, three MRI scanners, and a Sectra PACS/RIS system.
The Scanner Centre is a registered charity and a leading provider of translational cancer imaging. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and conducting innovative research in cross-sectional imaging.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and reporting investigations performed using CT and MRI. They will also have the opportunity to develop research projects in the Centre.
The post holder will perform or interpret the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures, document the performance and interpretation of procedures, and prepare and present comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities- Maintenance of high-quality patient-centred care
- Shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service and participation in strategic planning
- Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service
- Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity
- Active participation in continuing medical education

Person SpecificationPrevious ExperienceEssential Criteria- Shall have completed a minimum of 12 years of medical work (either in a continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification, with a minimum of 6 years in a relevant specialty
- Demonstrate an interest in, commitment to, and broad experience in Oncology, particularly cross-sectional imaging and subspecialty training in a lead area
- Ability to offer and be accountable for full and independent expert diagnostic opinion
- Can show evidence of leading on patient safety issues and achieving a change in practice
- Able to evidence engagement with clinical governance and the identification of errors and the learning from errors
- Evidence of engagement with appraisal and revalidation
- Full GMC registration with a Licence to Practice
- FRCR Membership or qualification of an equivalent level
- Evidence of being up to date and fit to practice safely, and aware of own training needs
