Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate Community Development Specialist to join our Family Hub team in Sevenoaks District, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity to build and expand services for children, young people, and families aged 0-19 (25 years for SEND).

The ideal candidate will have experience in building local networks, encouraging community engagement, and expanding volunteer opportunities. They will be able to communicate effectively with children and their families, plan, deliver, and evaluate effective participation and engagement opportunities.

This role is a permanent, full-time position with hybrid working available. We value skills that foster community empowerment, address inequalities, and encourage active participation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Building and strengthening local Family Hub networks in collaboration with partners and community organisations.
  2. Encouraging community engagement and co-design initiatives to develop and inform the Family Hub services.
  3. Expanding volunteer opportunities to empower parents, carers, and young people to lead and participate in peer-to-peer groups and other Family Hub activities.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including hybrid working and opportunities for professional development.
