Supporting Learning and Development as a Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Step Teachers. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students in secondary schools around Suffolk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop students' language, literacy, and numeracy skills through a range of opportunities.
- Support specific students with special educational needs, working closely with subject teachers and SENDCOs.
- Provide individualized support to students with identified special educational needs, maintaining accurate records and offering constructive feedback.
- Clarify instructions, motivate students, and encourage independence in their learning.
- Develop strategies to promote students' self-esteem and confidence.
- Support students with aspects of behavior, utilizing the learning space and environment effectively.
- Provide care and support to students who are sick or upset.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a Teaching Assistant in a UK-based educational setting.
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for education and supporting students' learning journeys.
- SEN experience is favorable.
