Support Specialist for Learning Disabilities

Somerset Care is an award-winning not-for-profit care provider across the South West. We are seeking a dedicated Support Specialist to join our Realise team, providing tailored support for individuals with learning disabilities.

About the Role

As a Support Specialist, you will be part of a team that provides high-quality, person-centred care, tailored to the needs of each individual. You will work from care plans, supporting with day-to-day living tasks, emotional support, social interactions, and accompanying those we support to appointments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and care to individuals with learning disabilities in their own homes, out and about, or in community settings.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to develop and implement individual care plans.
  • Support individuals with personal care, housekeeping, and daily living tasks.
  • Provide emotional support and social interaction to enhance the quality of life for those we support.
  • Accompany individuals to appointments and activities.
Requirements
  • A full valid driving licence and your own vehicle.
  • Knowledge of the Taunton area and ability to commute around Taunton from your home location.
  • Right to work in the UK (unfortunately, we are not able to offer sponsorship).
  • Available to work alternate weekends.

As this position involves "regulated activity" (as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006) an Enhanced DBS check will be undertaken.
