About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Soil Specialist Consultant to join our team at ADAS, a leading provider of research and consultancy services for agricultural systems. Based in Cambridge, UK, this full-time position will involve working closely with clients to deliver projects investigating soil quality, crop nutrition, and organic material utilization.

The successful candidate will have strong scientific and research skills, enabling them to contribute to existing projects and develop new proposals for funding. They will also be responsible for writing experiment protocols, project reports, and scientific papers, as well as presenting results at project meetings, industry events, and international conferences.

This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and development, with access to continual training and internal/external development programs. The salary range is £26,000 - £35,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate scientific and research skills, contributing to existing projects and developing new proposals for funding.
  2. Analyze and interpret data from experiments, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  3. Write high-quality experiment protocols, project reports, and scientific papers, showcasing expertise and knowledge.
  4. Present research findings at project meetings, industry events, and international conferences, effectively communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A degree or equivalent in Soil Science, Agricultural and Environmental Science, or a related subject.
  • A good understanding of soil and nutrient management in agricultural systems, including policy issues and crop nutrient management principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing effective collaboration with clients and colleagues.
