Geophysicist Data Specialist

Spectrum Offshore is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Graduate Geophysical Data Processor. As a key member of our growing team, you will be responsible for processing geophysical data, geological interpretation, identifying hazards, and survey report writing. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in the offshore renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with data processing of various geophysical datasets, including Side Scan Sonar, Magnetometer, and Sub-Bottom Profiler data
* Maintain high-quality and consistency of data processing and deliverable creation
* Ensure data quality control and assurance meets project scope requirements
* Investigate inconsistencies in geophysical and hydrographic datasets
* Prepare reports on survey operations, data acquisition, processing, and interpretation methodologies
* Conduct seabed characterisation and contact/hazard identification
* Perform shallow geological interpretation and mapping using seismic data sources
* Interpret seabed sediment and morphology using QGIS or ArcGIS
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent in Geology, Geophysics, or related marine/earth science field
* Working knowledge of side scan sonar, magnetometer, and seismic systems
* Experience interpreting marine geophysical and geotechnical data
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail under pressure
* Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
