**Job Description**
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Hydrographic Data Processor to join our growing team based in Lymington. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting bathymetric processing, generating client deliverables, and writing survey reports. As a Graduate/Hydrographic Data Processor, no prior hydrographic experience is required, but experience working with GIS and spatial data or handling big data would be an advantage.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Bathymetric Processing: Conduct high-quality bathymetric processing, ensuring accuracy and consistency in data creation.
- Report Preparation: Prepare reports based on geophysical survey data and interpretation, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
- Chart Creation: Produce high-quality hydrographic charts and chartlets using QGIS or ArcGIS, adhering to established guidelines.
- Data Quality Control: Ensure data quality control and assurance, verifying that it meets project scope requirements.
- Feedback Loop: Provide a positive feedback loop to the infield survey team, improving data acquisition quality and practices.
- Troubleshooting: Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot inconsistencies in hydrographic data.
- Procedure Adherence: Follow and contribute to established data processing procedures and guidelines.
- Data Management: Assist with data management and archiving activities, ensuring secure storage and retrieval.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate processing records using Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, such as Hydrography, Marine Geography, or Marine Sciences.
- Working knowledge of hydrographic multibeam systems, motion reference units, side scan sonar, and magnetometer systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and troubleshoot data where required.
- Excellent data management and coordination skills to handle large volumes of data.
