About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Sponsorship Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Network Rail and Transport for Wales to deliver ambitious projects that transform the rail network and public transport in Wales and Borders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to balance requirements and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the agreed scope.
  • Review and interrogate client remits to confirm viability and develop project requirements specifications.
  • Develop initial project plans and budgets, working with project managers to specify project delivery, milestones, and resource requirements.
  • Produce business cases and investment papers for projects, ensuring they meet the needs of clients, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Devise solutions that maintain business-as-usual accessibility for customers, considering 7-day railway principles and minimizing disruption to end-users.
  • Lead the process of quantifying risk associated with projects, devising mitigating actions, and reviewing recovery progress.
  • Negotiate with customers and stakeholders on commercial and contractual terms, ensuring compliance with corporate policy and strategy.
  • Hold project managers accountable for programme delivery, conducting periodic reviews to understand and challenge delivery progress.
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
  • Experience of dealing with client portfolios and liaising with people at all levels.
  • Ability to articulate complex business problems into manageable work packages and produce synthesized logical solutions.
  • Proven ability to write coherently, conveying report/investment information in a concise manner.
  • Commercially astute, persuasive, and customer-focused.
  • Proven influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Experience of leading a successful team.
What Could Set You Apart
  • Experience in management roles in a commercial environment.
  • MBA or other related postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts to finalization and ability to demonstrate commercial success.
