Job Title:Person-Centred Support Worker

Sugarman Health & Wellbeing is currently recruiting a Person-Centred Support Worker to join our team in Chesterfield. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an individual with autism who requires support with daily living tasks and promoting independence.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering person-centred care and has a desire to learn and grow. As a Person-Centred Support Worker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for the Service User, supporting them with daily living tasks, and encouraging independence through goal-setting and planning.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Makaton and positive behaviour support, although all training will be provided. You will also possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and patience when working with individuals with challenging behaviours.

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £15 per hour (with enhanced rates on Bank Holidays) and ongoing training and development opportunities. About the Role:
  • Support the individual with daily living tasks such as household chores, meal preparation, and personal care.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the Service User and their family.
  • Encourage and promote independence through goal-setting and planning.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for the Service User.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Makaton and positive behaviour support (training will be provided).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and understanding when working with individuals with challenging behaviours.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
