Senior Care Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Care Officer to join our team at Hull City Council. As a Senior Care Officer, you will play a key role in providing support to families and children in need, working closely with our care team and other professionals to create individualized packages of support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice, support, and guidance on individualized care plans for children and young people with complex needs.
  • Work with the Home Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the Home, supervising and supporting staff as needed.
  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each child or young person.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including CAMHS Systemic Practitioners and Child Psychologists, to ensure comprehensive support for families.
  • Provide training, guidance, and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Equivalent or higher qualification in a relevant Health and Social Care area of work (e.g., NVQ 3 Level).
  • Previous experience in a child care setting, including supervisory duties and working with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, responsive, and flexible team environment.
