About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Care Officer to join our Children's Homes team at Hull City Council. As a Senior Care Officer, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children in our residential care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to care staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver excellent care.
  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of each child, working closely with other professionals and agencies.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practice in childcare and support the well-being of children in our care.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and services to ensure that children receive a seamless and effective service.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of care staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A relevant qualification in childcare or social work, such as NVQ Level 3 in Child Care or a DipSW, Degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS.
  • Experience of working in a residential care setting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care and support.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire care staff.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality care and support that meets the individual needs of each child.
