About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Kirklees Council. As an Approved Mental Health Professional, you will play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable adults and children in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake holistic strength-based assessments and commissioning personalized support plans for service users.
  • Provide a least restrictive and preventative approach to service users to avoid hospital admission and ensure people remain in their homes.
  • Undertake Mental Health Act assessments with service users within the community.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, their families, and carers to enable them to be independent, fulfilled, and to live within their communities.
Requirements
  • A Social Work England recognized qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • A working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Human Rights Act, SEND legislation, Mental Capacity Act, and associated Codes of Practice.
  • Ability to travel across Kirklees as part of the job.
