About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our Mental Health Support Team, you will work closely with children and young people, as well as their families and carers, to provide comprehensive assessment, consultation, and evidence-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined caseload of children and young people with mental health difficulties, providing assessment, consultation, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Support Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) in developing their clinical practice, psychological formulation, and school engagement.
  • Provide Case Management and Clinical Skills Supervision to trainee/EMHPs within the service.
  • Work in partnership with schools, local authorities, and other statutory bodies to promote and adapt change processes.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, young people, and their families, as well as with other professionals and agencies.
  • Contribute to the development of the Mental Health Support Team, identifying opportunities to improve services and implementing evidence-based practice.
Requirements
  • Registered Wellbeing Practitioner (Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP), Children's Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP), or Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP)) or equivalent accreditation.
  • Substantial post-qualification experience working with children, young people, and their carers in a mental health or community setting.
  • Experience of managing a caseload of children and young people with a range of moderate mental health needs.
  • Experience of assessment and risk management, and ability to implement evidence-based practice.
  • Experience of delivering evidence-based psychological therapy (CBT).
  • Experience of working with parents or adults.
  • Experience of working in or in conjunction with an educational setting.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision.
  • Proven ability to work with other agencies and disciplines and in partnership with other organizations.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Successful completion of the CYP-IAPT CBT/EMHP supervisor training or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience delivering training to a diverse audience or group work.
