About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Technical Lead to join our growing team at Aviva. As a key member of our data engineering community, you will provide technical expertise and delivery capability across the development and IT Change community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical input into the preparation of solution designs and have a good understanding of the detailed technical deliverables and requirements across multiple projects.
  • Keep a clear overview of all aspects of data engineering and provide informed technical input to drive success.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Pyspark and SQL with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Tivoli, etc.
  • Design and implement scalable data solutions using cloud technologies and data ecosystem, with a preference for AWS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data engineering methodologies and explore new technologies and patterns as required.
Requirements
  • Strong technical consultancy experience across ETL/Data Warehouse/Big Data with hands-on delivery.
  • Working experience of cloud technologies and data ecosystem, with a preference for AWS.
  • Expertise in developing data pipelines based on Pyspark and SQL with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Tivoli, etc.
  • Knowledge of OLAP implementation on any database technologies, with a preference for Snowflake.
  • Excellent understanding of data engineering methodologies and the ability to explore new technologies and patterns as required.
What We Offer
  • Starting salary between £60,000 - £65,000 (depending on skills, experience, and qualifications).
