Data Engineering Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Technical Lead to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our data engineering community, you will provide technical expertise and delivery capability across the development and IT Change community.

About the Role:

The Data Engineering Technical Lead will be responsible for providing technical input into the preparation of solution designs, ensuring a good understanding of the detailed technical deliverables and requirements across multiple projects. You will also be responsible for keeping a clear overview of all aspects of this area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical consultancy experience across ETL/Data Warehouse/Big Data.
  • Work with cloud technologies and data ecosystem, with a preference for AWS.
  • Develop data pipelines based on Pyspark and SQL with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Tivoli, etc.
  • Implement OLAP on any database technologies, with a preference for Snowflake.
  • Explore new technologies and patterns as required in project execution.

  • Starting salary between £60,000 - £65,000 (depending on skills, experience, and qualifications).
