Data Engineering Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Technical Lead to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and delivery capability across the development & IT Change community.

About the Role:

The Data Engineering Technical Lead will be responsible for ensuring development standards are maintained in delivering solutions to time and budgetary targets. You will be a technical expert who is able to give informed technical input into the preparation of solution designs, with a good understanding of the detailed technical deliverables and requirements across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and delivery capability across the development & IT Change community
  • Ensure development standards are maintained in delivering solutions to time and budgetary targets
  • Give informed technical input into the preparation of solution designs
  • Have a good understanding of the detailed technical deliverables and requirements across multiple projects

Requirements:

  • Strong technical consultancy experience across ETL/Data Warehouse/Big Data
  • Working experience of Cloud Technologies and data ecosystem, AWS is preferable
  • Expert on development of data pipeline based on Pyspark and SQL with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Tivoli etc
  • Knowledge of OLAP implementation on any Database technologies (Snowflake preferred)
  • Excellent understanding of Data Engineering methodologies, with the ability to explore new technologies and patterns as required in project execution

  • Starting salary between £60,000 - £65,000 (depending on skills, experience, and qualifications)
