About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Digital Content Manager to lead our digital media platforms and drive growth across our portfolio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a digital strategy that nurtures a lifetime love of the BBC by delivering safe, fun, and educational spaces online that kids love and parents trust.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Strategy
  • Provide clear vision and strategy for the digital media platforms, including platforms, games production, and web.
  • Develop and deliver a digital strategy to drive audience growth targets across the portfolio.
Editorial and Content Management
  • Editorial responsibility for digital platform output, ensuring compliance with BBC Editorial, Legal, Child Protection, and Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Responsible for the team budgets and production roadmap, including monitoring and responding to ROI data.
Team Management and Collaboration
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team across platforms, games production, and web, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across the BBC and Children's and Education to establish strong collaborative working relationships between teams.
Analytics and Performance Reporting
  • Use online analytics and real-time data tools to direct decision making and drive results.
  • Present strategy and performance reports to senior stakeholders across the business.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in digital content management, with a strong understanding of online analytics and real-time data tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and communicate successfully with digital teams, stakeholders, and departments across the BBC and external partners.
  • Passionate about digital content, with a solid understanding across multiple digital platforms, and the ability to tap into digital trends to drive growth.
  • Excellent editorial judgement, with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Experience in agile working, with the ability to quickly adapt and pivot where required based on data and insights.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with an eye for high-quality content and great attention to detail.
