Job Overview

The BBC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Content Editor to lead our online and social media team, as well as the multimedia News Hub. This is an exciting senior role that requires a dynamic and creative individual who can work collaboratively with other platforms, including TV and radio.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the news agenda in our region and work with other leaders to allocate resources.
  • Oversee the commissioning and production of online and social media content.
  • Line manage, develop, and support team members, and oversee rotas and manage HR processes.
  • Help run the multimedia news hub, ensuring our stories are joined up across all our platforms.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure the best of the North West's journalism has the highest impact possible.
  • Ensure our journalism meets the highest editorial standards and is legally compliant.

Requirements

  • Significant experience of leading a digital team.
  • Significant people leadership experience.
  • Exceptional editorial and legal judgment.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with other platforms, ideally TV & radio.
  • An understanding of the North West and its communities.
