About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate to join our team as a Sustainability Specialist. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in Building Services Design, Mechanical Engineering, or Environmental Sustainability and a keen interest in developing a career in sustainable building services design and controls.

Key Responsibilities

The Graduate will assist in the development of energy, decarbonisation, and sustainability strategies for new-build and existing buildings, supporting Building Services Engineers and Sustainability Specialists. They will have the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of HVAC system and control modelling using the IES VE Apache HVAC software for various environmental systems for buildings, model typical and innovative HVAC systems, optimise HVAC operation and minimise energy consumption and carbon emissions, whilst working towards professional membership.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in a subject related to Building Services Design, Mechanical Engineering, or Environmental Sustainability, some knowledge and experience of building physics, particularly about heat transfer, energy balance, and thermal comfort. They will also have excellent communication skills, a positive and flexible attitude, enthusiasm for a career in sustainable building services design and controls underpinned by an understanding of our sector and work, analytical thought process, creative approach to problem-solving, aptitude to work on their own initiative and be proactive, organised and methodical in their approach to managing their tasks and priorities, and a drive to meet deadlines and a close appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
