About the Role

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Energy and Sustainability Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and delivering initiatives, tools, and technical managerial guidance to support our sustainability expectations and policy commitments.

This role will involve driving forward a change and improvement agenda for sustainability and climate change, ensuring the delivery of our key objectives. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including Directors and senior managers, to develop and implement work programmes with clear, measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on sustainability and climate change data and trends, evidence-based practice, and national policy.
  • Develop and deliver initiatives, tools, and technical and managerial guidance to support the meeting of Scottish Governments sustainability expectations.
  • Influence and advise NHSL Property & Estates Strategies on all sustainable development and environmental matters.
  • Deliver specialist support to colleagues and partners, including workstream management and project management to achieve sustainability outcomes.

Requirements

  • Education to degree level in an environment or sustainability-related subject, or with extensive relevant equivalent experience.
  • Further qualification or equivalent work experience or knowledge in a subject related to sustainability, planning, or programme management at masters level.
  • Membership or Fellowship of one or more Professional Institutes would be advantageous (IEMA, EI, EMA etc.).
