About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Geriatrician to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical services, and contributing to the development of our geriatric medicine department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in geriatric medicine, working closely with junior doctors and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement clinical services and programs to improve patient outcomes and experience.
  • Contribute to the development of our geriatric medicine department, including participating in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in teaching and training of medical students and junior doctors, promoting excellence in medical education.

Requirements
  • Registered with the GMC and licensed to practice.
  • On the Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in Geriatric Medicine and general internal medicine or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • Teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education.
