About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Geriatrician to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our Geriatric Medicine department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the care of older adults with complex medical needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Registered with the GMC and licensed to practice.
  • On the Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • Relevant higher degree (PhD, MD, MSc) and teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education (desirable).
Person Specification
  • Effective leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of Geriatric Medicine.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to competing demands.
