We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Consultant Geriatricians to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in improving the care of older people in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

About the Role

As a Consultant Geriatrician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our geriatric medicine services. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes and improve the overall quality of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with complex geriatric needs
  • Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of geriatric medicine services
  • Participate in teaching and training of postgraduate clinical staff
  • Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives in geriatric medicine
Requirements
  • On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in Geriatric Medicine and general internal medicine or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview
  • Teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education
  • Evidence of teaching and training of post/undergraduate clinical staff
  • Development and commissioning of services
  • Experience of research in geriatric medicine/general internal medicine
