We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our London office and lead our design teams in delivering high-quality projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring seamless project delivery and exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Lead and manage design teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality designs that meet client expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality assurance procedures, and project performance metrics.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Develop and implement design management tools and procedures to enhance project efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects that meet client needs and exceed expectations.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, identifying new opportunities and developing strategies to grow the business.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their growth and development.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring transparency and accountability in project delivery.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, cash flow management, and project financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement project programming skills, ensuring efficient project delivery and meeting client expectations.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop and implement project schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the design process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs that meet client expectations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance project delivery and business growth.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of industry contacts, ensuring access to new opportunities and partnerships.
  • Contribute to the development of company policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and company values.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field.
  • Professional membership with a recognized engineering institution (e.g., CEng, ChPP).
  • 10+ years of experience in a senior design or management role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  • Experience in developing and implementing design management tools and procedures.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage design teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs that meet client expectations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to contribute to business development initiatives and drive business growth.
  • Ability to work autonomously, as part of a team, and lead a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and client satisfaction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project programming tools, such as Microsoft Project.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
