Job Description

Job Title: Senior Design Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Manager to join our London Design Management group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering high-profile projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage design delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor ongoing design-related activities, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Collaborate with commercial and design management teams to manage costs and contracts.
  • Develop and maintain detailed design programs, tracking progress and milestones.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project teams, resolving design-related challenges and issues.
  • Drive project delivery, working closely with BDP team leaders to achieve project goals.
  • Report on project progress and performance to BDP directors.
  • Manage changes to project scopes, coordinating contractual notifications and ensuring timely updates.
  • Assist the change team in reviewing changes, defining project impact, and pricing changes.
  • Contribute to the monthly project reporting cycle, liaising with clients on changes to cost, fee, resources, and scope.
  • Identify resource gaps and determine resource requirements to maintain project progress.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced design management team members.

Requirements:

  • Preferred experience in design, construction, or engineering environments.
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Mathematical and commercial literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining accuracy and quality.
