About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Design Manager to join our team at RED Engineering Design. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex design projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to design teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Design Management: Develop and implement design management tools and procedures to ensure efficient project delivery and effective stakeholder management.
  • Team Management: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of designers and engineers to achieve project and business goals.
  • Client Relationships: Foster strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations, and delivering design solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Commercial Management: Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to ensure profitability and growth.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and maintain high standards of quality and professionalism in all aspects of design delivery.
Requirements
  • Education: BEng in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Professional Membership: MCIBSE/MIEE/IMechE Professional Membership.
  • Chartered Status: Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status.
  • Experience: 10+ years' experience at Senior Engineer level or above, with a proven track record of delivering complex design projects.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams, and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project, and other project programming tools.
