Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Kinship Assessment Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and supporting potential carers who have come forward through the Public Law process or by the Private Law route.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of potential carers to determine their suitability for caring for children.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carers, families, and other stakeholders to ensure effective support and communication.
  • Prepare and present reports to courts and fostering panels to inform decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and agencies to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the needs of children and families.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent.
  • Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
  • Experience working within Children and Families and Fostering services.
  • Commitment to children remaining with their extended family when possible.
  • Excellent analytical and assessment writing skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of attending court and fostering panels, with the ability to present reports and provide evidence.
