Consultant Psychiatrist in Addiction Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services (DARS) in NHS Highland. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver specialist services in urban and rural communities across the North Highland region.
The role involves undertaking direct clinical work, supporting the development of medical and non-medical staff, and co-producing interventions to support recovery and reduce harm. The post holder will also contribute to the implementation of Medication Assisted Treatment Standards (MAT) and work with others to deliver digital services.
The ideal candidate will be on the GMC specialist register in General Adult Psychiatry with an endorsement in Substance Misuse Psychiatry or within 6 months of the award of CCT. The post requires participation in the Consultant on-call rota at New Craigs Hospital.

Requirements

Working Arrangements
The post is based in the Mental Health Service in the South and Mid Operational Unit but due to the geography covered by the post, it is possible for the post holder to live in any suitable location by negotiation. This is a full-time post (1.0 WTE).
