Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced hotel professional to join our team as a General Manager (Interim) for our newly renovated 63-bedroom hotel in Sunderland. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, improving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional service to our guests.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Manager and central teams to execute strategic plans and drive business growth.
  • Supervise department heads and maintain seamless coordination across all functions to ensure efficient operations.
  • Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring a positive experience for our guests.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the premises and engage in property improvement plan initiatives to maintain a high level of quality and service.
Guest Experience
  • Uphold our commitment to exceptional service, ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience.
  • Ensure immaculate guest rooms and public areas, maintaining a high level of quality and service.
  • Facilitate smooth check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.
  • Address guest requests promptly and courteously, ensuring that every guest feels valued and respected.
Financial Management
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost control, ensuring that our financial resources are used efficiently and effectively.
  • Optimize revenue streams, including rooms, food and beverage, and events, to drive business growth and improve profitability.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to achieve financial targets and drive business growth.
Human Resources
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring that our team members have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional service.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork, ensuring that our team members feel valued and respected.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address employee concerns, ensuring that our team members are motivated and engaged.
Sales and Marketing
  • Support local marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility and drive business growth.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management (preferred).
  • 5 years proven track record in hotel management or a related role.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS, POS, etc.).
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
