Hestia Housing Support Advocate

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hestia Housing Support Advocate to join our team in our Domestic Abuse service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and practical support to women and their children living in the community who have or may still be experiencing domestic abuse.
As a Hestia Housing Support Advocate, your primary responsibility will be to provide direct support to clients, including risk assessments, support planning, and crisis intervention. You will also be required to work closely with other agencies, such as Newham Police and Community Safety, to ensure the needs of our clients are met to a high quality.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to clients, including risk assessments, support planning, and crisis intervention.
- Work closely with other agencies, such as Newham Police and Community Safety, to ensure the needs of our clients are met to a high quality.
- Attend weekly outreach events between 9pm-11pm and provide cover at drop-in events/hubs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with GDPR requirements.

- A competitive salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements:
- Empathy, flexibility, and respect when working with vulnerable individuals.
- Experience of working with vulnerable people, particularly those involved in off-street and street-based sex work.
- Ability to understand and support individuals experiencing trauma.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues faced by people involved in sex work and the barriers they face when accessing services.
- Excellent verbal, written, and IT skills.
- Good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to apply these to your work.
- A full valid driving license.
