TRAINING AND COMPETENCE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

  • Do you possess expertise in Assessment and Verification? This may include qualifications such as NVQ, SVQ, Apprenticeships, or internal organizational standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct assessments, internal verification, and competence/training support for clients.
  • Oversee, maintain, and implement the Competence Management Service (CMS) for clients and across all their assets.
  • Assist the Petrofac Contract Manager and Focal Points in the implementation and integration of competence across all contract sites.
  • Participate in periodic offshore visits to engage with Assessor Teams and Management of client assets.
  • Provide training, coaching, mentoring, and support to on-site Assessor teams.
  • Facilitate the coaching and development of team members in assessment and verification best practices.
  • Develop, facilitate, and implement team standardization.
  • Assess Assessors against the current National Occupational Standard in Assessment (SQA qualification).
  • Maintain accurate records within the electronic portal.
  • Ensure precise reporting and identify gaps, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Support the resolution of competency gaps.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with both internal and external management teams.
  • Adapt practices to both onshore and offshore environments.
  • Apply the Petrofac Competence Framework and Assessment and Verification Standards on the contract, serving as the representative for any audits related to the contract and/or competence standards.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Competence and Training Management Framework and standards to support current practices and best practice delivery.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Workplace Assessor Qualification (e.g., L&D9DI or equivalent) or willingness to obtain within 12 months of starting the role.
  • Internal Verifier Qualification (e.g., L&D11 or equivalent) or willingness to obtain within 12 months of starting the role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Current BOSIET & MIST certification or willingness to obtain upon commencement of the role (provided by Petrofac).
  • Knowledge of current best practices in assessment and verification.
  • Lead Auditor Qualification.
  • NEBOSH qualification.
  • Experience with audit activities, scheduling, and processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and plan ahead.
  • Adaptability in approaches to ensure service delivery, including reviewing and maintaining standards to meet awarding and approving organization requirements.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take on tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and recognize the support needs of others.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and its application.
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to working with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Capability to manage personal workload to meet tight schedules within key performance indicators.
  • Experience in coaching and training team members.
  • Familiarity with KANBAN and/or other Agile methodologies.
