POSITION TITLE: COMPETENCE AND TRAINING SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The Competence & Training Team is on the lookout for talented individuals
  • Do you possess experience in Assessment and Verification? This may include qualifications such as NVQ, SVQ, Apprenticeships, or In-House organizational Standards.
  • Are you certified as an Assessor and Verifier?

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct assessments, internal verification, and competence/training support for clients.
  • Oversee, maintain, and implement the Competence Management Service (CMS) for clients across all their assets.
  • Assist the Petrofac Contract Manager and Focal Points in the implementation and integration of competence across all contract sites.
  • Participate in periodic offshore visits to engage with Assessor Teams and Management of client assets.
  • Provide training, coaching, mentoring, and support to on-site Assessor teams.
  • Facilitate the coaching and development of team members in assessment and verification best practices.
  • Develop, facilitate, and implement team standardization processes.
  • Assess Assessors against the current National Occupational Standard in Assessment (SQA qualification).
  • Conduct Internal Quality Assurance in line with the Petrofac CMS Verification Standard and Sampling strategy.
  • Maintain precise information within the electronic portal.
  • Ensure accurate reporting, identify gaps, and address any issues.
  • Support the resolution of competency gaps.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with both internal and external management teams.
  • Adapt practices to suit both onshore and offshore environments.
  • Apply the Petrofac Competence Framework, Assessment, and Verification Standards on the contract and represent the company during any audits related to the contract and/or Competence standards.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Competence and Training Management Framework and standards to support best practice delivery.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Workplace Assessor Qualification (e.g., L&D9DI or equivalent) or willingness to obtain within 12 months of employment.
  • Internal Verifier Qualification (e.g., L&D11 or equivalent) or willingness to obtain within 12 months of employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Current BOSIET & MIST certifications or willingness to obtain upon starting (provided by Petrofac).
  • Knowledge of current best practices in assessment and verification.
  • Lead Auditor Qualification.
  • NEBOSH qualification.
  • Experience in audit activities, scheduling, and processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and plan ahead.
  • Adaptability in approaches to ensure service delivery, including the review and maintenance of standards to meet awarding and approving organization requirements.
  • A proactive mindset and readiness to take on tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and recognize the support needs of others.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and application of best practices.
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to working with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Capability to manage personal workload to meet tight deadlines within key performance indicators.
