Technical Training Specialist

Orion Group is seeking a highly skilled Technical Training Specialist to play a key role in defining training expectations, ensuring best-in-class technical training provision, and supporting the development of technical training solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the company's focal point for all Technical Training requirements, ensuring seamless integration with business objectives.
- Partner with Technical Authorities and Subject Matter Experts to define, design, and implement new or updated training expectations, aligning with industry best practices.
- Manage Training Matrices for mandatory and nominated technical training expectations, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Lead the scoping and development of new technical training courses, leveraging expertise to drive business growth.
- Stay up-to-date with changes to regulatory requirements and industry best practices, applying knowledge to inform training strategies.
- Facilitate an Active Gap Management process, identifying and addressing training gaps to ensure business continuity.
- Operational ownership of the Training Management System (TMS) software, ensuring effective training delivery and tracking.
- Monitor and report on overall training compliance, gap management, and contractor compliance performance, providing actionable insights.
- Execute regulatory inspections, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Manage Contractor Competence, ensuring that contractors possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Competence Assessor or Internal Verifier for Supervisory Management and L&D awards, ensuring that training programs meet industry standards.
- Degree-qualified or equivalent, with a strong foundation in training and development.
- L&D9Di, A1 or D32/33 qualified (or working towards), with a proven track record in training delivery.
- ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualified, with experience in auditing and quality management.
- Experience in the energy, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries, with a deep understanding of industry-specific training needs.
- Proven experience in leading or supervising the delivery of training expectations, with a focus on business outcomes.
- Experience in developing technical training solutions, with a strong understanding of adult learning principles.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies, with a knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
