Health and Safety Specialist

Health and Safety Manager - A key role in ensuring the highest levels of Health, Safety and Wellbeing on major infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide functional Health, Safety and Wellbeing advice, guidance and coaching to operational teams.
- Support contract/project teams in establishing and maintaining Health, Safety and Wellbeing standards.
- Advise on contract/project compliance with statutory provisions.
- Develop and implement Health, Safety and Wellbeing plans.
- Ensure risk assessments and method statements are prepared and reviewed.
- Escalate significant incidents to HSW manager and contract/project lead.
- Investigate incidents and maintain incident management database.
- Review HSW trends with contract/project lead and establish improvement plans.
- Conduct HSW audits and inspections.
- Support business with work winning and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
Essential:
Previous experience in health and safety on complex civil engineering/infrastructure projects. Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Technician, or Graduate membership of IOSH.
Desirable:
Working towards chartered membership of IOSH. NEBOSH Diploma, NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health and Well-being at Work.
