Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enforcing health and safety policies aligned with UK legal requirements and industry best practices. This will involve conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards. Additionally, you will deliver safety training and promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization. Collaboration with all departments to drive safety and assist them in operational considerations daily and when undertaking larger projects is also essential.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and enforce health and safety policies aligned with UK legal requirements and industry best practices.
  2. Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
  3. Deliver safety training and promote a positive health and safety culture.
  4. Collaborate with all departments to drive safety and assist them in operational considerations daily and when undertaking larger projects.
  5. Investigate accidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
  6. Oversee environmental safety compliance to support overall business objectives.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A qualification in occupational health and safety, such as a masters, NVQ, BSC or NEBOSH national diploma.
  • Proven experience in health and safety, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online document management tools.

What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as generous annual leave, health insurance, and opportunities for professional development.
