Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) Job Description

Our client, a leading UK contractor, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to coordinate all mechanical engineering functions and deliver successful project outcomes in the water sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Vet all procurement packages and oversee mechanical requirements on and off-site.
  • Oversee the production of mechanical drawings and liaise with other disciplines.
  • Support the Project Quantity Surveyor and Site Agents on installation and commercial matters.
  • Monitor productivity and audit labour and materials used in the project.
  • Conduct factory inspections and quality audits to ensure the highest levels of quality.
  • Represent the company at internal and external project reviews.
Requirements:
  • Possess a relevant CSCS card and SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the water or waste sector.
  • Technical knowledge of civil, electrical, and mechanical operations.
  • Experience in pre-production and production project engineering.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to plan and organise resources.
  • Proficiency in IT and company software packages.
