Job Description

Job Title: Technical/Project Engineer

Location: Midlands (Hybrid – 2 days office/3 home)

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE) + benefits

Core Hours: Mon – Fri 08:45-17:00hrs

Contract Type: Permanent

Company & Role

Pertemps Network Group is seeking an experienced Technical/Project Engineer to join our team. As part of our Technical Engineering Team, you will support the safe design and installation of projects and contribute to external technical decisions within the industry.

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Technical/Project Engineer to work in a Hybrid role, but also be flexible to travel to operational sites and customer locations around the UK.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must have a full UK driving license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and gaining approval for installation projects/layouts for external customers.
  • Advising teams of necessary equipment and tools for installations
  • Advising customers on technical matters including process safety, product knowledge, product storage, regulation and maintenance.
  • Expertly supporting incident investigations and quality improvement initiatives
  • Leading and taking on a hands-on approach to long term projects.
  • Carrying out liaison meetings with suppliers, clients and partners
  • Consistently complying with company and industrial guidelines, standards, processes, and legislation.
  • Managing the Engineering Document Management System (EDMS)
  • Continuously maintaining a strong knowledge of industry best practices and completing necessary training as required

Requirements:

  • Qualified to Chartered Engineer (CEng) level, or working towards
  • A background covering various technical disciplines, ideally including mechanical, process and electrical engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of safety and risk management
  • Experience working on long term projects would be advantageous.
  • Strong computer literacy and the ability to pick up new software quickly.
  • Comfortable working with people with varying backgrounds, disciplines and seniority
  • Capacity to make quick, clear decisions which may include tough choices or considered risks.
